Suggest an idea for Loquus
For learners who can picture a better Loquus: a feature you keep wishing for, a lesson you would like to see or a language you hope to learn next.
All community topicsWhat to post here
New features, lesson topics, course requests and improvements to existing tools are all welcome. For example:
- Add Swedish as a new course
- A Korean lesson on making phone calls
- Typed answers in the practice challenge
- More everyday conversation examples in Italian
- A printable summary of each lesson
- Mark the web lessons I have already finished
How to write a helpful post
The most useful ideas explain the need before the solution. Try to cover:
- The goal: what you want to be able to do.
- The obstacle: what makes it hard, slow or impossible today.
- An example: a real moment when the idea would have helped you.
- Your setup: the language you are learning, and whether you use iPhone, iPad, Android or the website.
- One idea per post, named in its first sentence.
Before you post
If your idea is about lesson content, try a few of the free lessons first to see how lessons work today. Each one has explanations, worked examples, common mistakes, “your turn” tasks and a practice challenge.
Then read the recent ideas. If yours is already there, reply with your own example: a second reason for an idea says more than a second post. If something is broken rather than missing, use Bug reports.
What happens next
Ideas appear after moderation. Replies from other learners, with their own examples, show how widely an idea is shared. There are no notifications, so check back to follow the discussion.
Common questions
Will my idea be built?
There is no guarantee. Loquus is built and supported by one person, so not every idea can be taken on. A clear goal and a real example make any idea easier to consider.
Can I suggest a new language?
Yes. Name the language, the variety you need, such as European or Brazilian Portuguese, and what you would use it for. Loquus currently teaches 14 languages.
Can I suggest a lesson topic?
Yes. Name the course, the topic and one sentence you would like to be able to say. Each course already has 25 free lessons, so check them first.
