Choose the right board
Questions and help is for getting Loquus to work for you: installing the app, choosing a course, understanding free access and Loquus Plus, or finding your way around the app. A question about one lesson on this website belongs in the discussion under that lesson instead.
Bug reports is for anything that doesn’t work as it should: a crash, a frozen screen, a button that does nothing or a page that won’t load. A mistake in a lesson’s content, such as an incorrect example, is a correction, so post it under that lesson or send it by email.
Ideas and suggestions is for what Loquus could do next: a new feature, a lesson topic, a language you would like to learn or a better way to practice. If something is broken rather than missing, it belongs in Bug reports.
Feedback and concerns is for how Loquus feels to use: what works, what frustrates you and what worries you, from the pace of a course to the way Loquus Plus is presented. Criticism is welcome. A concern about your own purchase belongs in email, not in public.
Learning together is for learners helping learners: study routines, ways to use the lessons and practice, and questions for people studying the same language. Share what worked for you rather than what will work for everyone. App problems and feature requests have their own boards.
Community guidelines
- Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not with people. Someone may be writing in a language they are still learning, so correct their grammar or spelling only when they ask.
- Keep private details private. Approved posts are public, so never share personal details such as your full name, address or phone number, account data, or payment information, including receipts and order numbers.
- Stay on topic. Post on the board that fits, and keep each post to one subject. Advertising and repeated posts are removed as spam.
- Write in any language. Every language is welcome, including the one you are learning. Short, clear sentences help readers who are still learning yours.
How moderation works
Every comment and reply waits for moderation before it appears on the page. The moderator approves, rejects or hides posts, and can add an official Loquus reply. Spam, harassment and personal information are removed. Posts still waiting for review, and posts that were rejected, are deleted after 30 days.
How to get a useful answer
- Read the recent posts first. Your question may already have an answer.
- Put the main point in your first sentence.
- Say whether you use iPhone, iPad, Android or the website, and which language you are learning.
- Describe what you have already tried.
- Ask one thing per post, so each answer is easy to follow.
- If you solve the problem yourself, reply to your own post so the next reader finds the answer too.
Common questions
Do I need an account to post?
No. You only need a display name and your message in plain text. No account or email address is required.
Why doesn’t my post appear yet?
Every comment and reply waits for moderation, and it appears once the moderator approves it. A post that breaks the guidelines is rejected instead of published.
What name should I use?
A first name or a nickname you are happy to show in public. Names are not verified, so a name alone does not prove who wrote a post. Official answers are posted by the moderator as Loquus.
Will I be notified about replies?
No. There are no email notifications, so bookmark the board and check back. Replies can nest up to five levels, which keeps a conversation under the post that started it.
Where do private questions go?
Send them to support@loquuslanguage.com. Anything involving a purchase, account data or other private details should stay off the public boards.
