For learners of any of the 14 Loquus languages who want to compare notes on studying. Beginners, returning learners and people learning more than one language are all welcome.
All community topicsWhat to post here
Routines, habits, questions for other learners and small discoveries all fit here. For example:
- Ten minutes of Japanese every evening: my routine
- Reading the common mistakes before the practice challenge
- Anyone else learning Korean and Japanese together?
- Writing my own “your turn” answers in a notebook
- Retaking a practice challenge a few days later
- Tips for reading Devanagari as a beginner
- Studying Belgian Dutch while working full time
How to write a helpful post
Posts that show what you actually do are the easiest to learn from. Try to include:
- The language you are learning, and roughly how long you have studied it.
- What you do: which lessons or activities, how often and for how long.
- The parts of a lesson you rely on, such as worked examples, common mistakes, “your turn” tasks or the practice challenge.
- What you noticed, told as your own experience rather than a promise for everyone.
- If you want advice, what you have tried so far and where you feel stuck.

Posts appear after moderation. Replies can nest up to five levels, so a single routine can grow into a longer conversation. There are no notifications, so check back to see who has joined in.
Common questions
Can I post in the language I am learning?
Yes, writing practice is welcome. If you would like corrections, ask for them at the start of your post.
Is there a routine that works for everyone?
No routine suits every learner. People here share what worked for them, so you can decide what to try and adjust it to your own week.
Do I need the app to join in?
No. Anyone learning one of the 14 languages is welcome, including people who only use the free lessons on this website.
