When you meet a French noun, notice the article beside it and how nearby words change. Grammar Center can help explain gender, plurals, and agreement. Return to examples as you review so that you are working with useful combinations of words, not just isolated spellings.
French has different ways to address someone, including tu and vous. Look at the situation around an expression when you browse the Phrasebook. A greeting for a friend and a request to someone you have just met may call for different wording.
