Spanish grammar

Start with the meaning you want to express. Choose noun articles, forms of address, present verbs, and the relationships expressed by por and para. Worked examples help you explain each decision before building your own sentence.

Start with the sentence’s main relationship

Use the existing lessons to distinguish identity from condition, choose an address pattern, and connect nouns with articles. Then use the present tense lesson to describe what people do and what situations hold now. Identify the subject before selecting the verb, and keep a noun’s gender separate from a verb’s person agreement. Each small word performs a different job in the message.

Test a contrast with a real meaning

Compare two sentences that differ in one important choice. Ask whether the change affects the intended relationship, the listener addressed, the purpose of an action, or the person performing it. Avoid memorizing a short slogan as a rule for every context. The source notes and boundaries explain why a useful beginner pattern can still have exceptions or alternative constructions.

Build a complete message before selecting an answer

Read a worked example, cover its model, and create a related sentence of your own. The production tasks invite that effort before recognition practice. After checking the explanations, return later and rebuild one sentence from its meaning.
